1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, and related services by OceanJet Express (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to its customers (“Customer”, “you”).

By engaging our services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Scope of Services

OceanJet Express provides air freight, package consolidation, customs facilitation, and related logistics services. All services are subject to availability and compliance with Jamaican laws and applicable international shipping regulations.

3. Quotations and Pricing

3.1 All quotations provided by OceanJet Express are estimates based on the information supplied by the Customer.

3.2 Final charges may vary due to, but are not limited to:

• Actual or volumetric weight discrepancies

• Customs reclassification

• Government-imposed duties, taxes, or levies

• Additional handling, inspection, or storage requirements

3.3 Shipping rates and service fees are subject to change without prior notice.

4. Customs Duties and Taxes

4.1 The Customer is solely responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, penalties, brokerage fees, and other governmental charges.

4.2 Oceanjet Express acts solely as a facilitator in customs processing and shall not be held liable for customs inspections, delays, reclassification, seizures, or additional charges imposed by Jamaican Customs or other authorities.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 All invoices must be paid in full prior to the release or delivery of goods.

5.2 Oceanjet Express reserves the right to withhold delivery of any shipment until all outstanding balances are settled.

5.3 Unpaid balances may incur administrative fees and/or storage charges.

6. Prohibited and Restricted Goods

The Customer warrants that shipments do not contain illegal, hazardous, flammable, counterfeit, or otherwise restricted items under Jamaican law or international shipping regulations.

Oceanjet Express reserves the right to refuse, return, confiscate, or surrender prohibited goods to the relevant authorities without liability.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 Oceanjet Express shall not be liable for:

• Delays caused by customs or regulatory authorities

• Acts of God, natural disasters, or force majeure events

• Airline, carrier, or third-party service failures

7.2 Liability for loss or damage shall be limited to the declared value of the goods or the maximum amount permitted by applicable Jamaican law.

7.3 Under no circumstances shall Oceanjet Express be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or business interruption.

8. Insurance

Unless explicitly arranged in writing, shipments handled by Oceanjet Express are not insured by the Company. Customers are strongly advised to obtain independent cargo insurance where necessary.

9. Claims Procedure

9.1 All claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing to oceanjetexpress@gmail.com within seven (7) days of receipt.

9.2 Claims must include supporting documentation such as invoices, proof of value, and photographic evidence where applicable.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in denial of the claim.

10. Storage and Abandoned Goods

Goods not collected within a reasonable time period may incur storage charges. Unclaimed goods may be disposed of in accordance with applicable Jamaican laws and regulations.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.
